Yucatan, Mexico, continues to increase the number of electric vehicle sales in 2024. In January, the state had an increase of 21.88% in the commercialization of these units, with respect to the same month of 2023.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n According to the information provided by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi), regarding “Sales of hybrid and electric vehicles”, in the first month of 2024, 195 units were sold (160 hybrid, 26 electric and 9 plug-in hybrids). In January 2023, 165 were sold (63 hybrids, 17 electric and 7 plug-in hybrids).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The figure for the first month of this year, in terms of electric units distributed, also exceeds that of January 2022. In that year, 61 such cars were sold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In 2017, the increase was 50.8%, with 92 units sold (89 hybrids and 3 plug-in); in 2018, sales increased 120.6%, with 203 (174 hybrids, 28 plug-in and one electric).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n For 2019, it was up 12.8%, with 229 cars sold (212 hybrids, 14 plug-in and 3 electric). In 2020, there were 274 (250 hybrids, 4 electric and 20 plug-in); in 2021, the total was 601 and, in 2022, 790.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In terms of Mexico as a whole, Inegi detailed that during January 2024, automotive companies in the country managed to market 7,442 hybrid, plug-in hybrid and electric cars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This level of sales implied a 74.6% growth<\/strong> compared to the same month of the previous year, when 4,263 units were sold.<\/p>\n\n\n\nKey Figures<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
