The National Automotive Association of Chile<\/strong> (ANAC) reported record figures in May for the sale of electric vehicles, in the midst of a slowdown in the sale of these units during the first half of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The association detailed that in the fifth month of the year, registrations of zero or low emission vehicles increased by 133%, with a total of 1,364 units sold, and totaling 5,335 so far this year<\/strong>, which is equivalent to an increase of 100% compared to the same period in 2023.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n According to figures reported in Chile’s La Tercera<\/strong>, the category of 100% electric vehicles (BEVs) experienced an expansion of 631.4% in May, accounting for a total of 373 units registered, and also accumulating a growth of 100% so far this year to 1,200 units marketed.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Plug-in hybrid (PHEV) models also had a strong upswing in the fifth month of the year, marking their best record as 81 units in the month (an increase of 237.5%) and totaling 372 units registered in May<\/strong> (up 210%).<\/p>\n\n\n\nOther Segments<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
