{"id":35770,"date":"2024-07-10T05:10:00","date_gmt":"2024-07-10T10:10:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/?p=35770"},"modified":"2024-07-10T07:52:38","modified_gmt":"2024-07-10T12:52:38","slug":"chile-launches-model-for-interurban-bike-path-construction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/en\/chile-launches-model-for-interurban-bike-path-construction\/","title":{"rendered":"Chile Launches Model for Interurban Bike Path Construction"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Aiming to provide high-quality connectivity to areas where active mobility is the primary mode of transportation, <strong>Chile&#8217;s Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications (MTT)<\/strong>, in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Works (MOP) and the Undersecretariat of Tourism, has presented <strong>the first model for interurban bike paths.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thus, the initial purpose of the model is <strong>to establish 43 kilometers of bike paths<\/strong>, infrastructure that will be implemented using maintenance contracts for routes managed by the MOP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this context, the MTT will be responsible for the road design of the projects, while the Undersecretariat of Tourism will contribute to the development of signage and necessary additional equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Related Content: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/en\/construction-of-charging-center-for-electric-buses-in-chile-over-50-complete\/\"><strong>Construction of Electric Bus Charging Center in Chile Over 50% Complete<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, the authorities indicated that project selection will focus on areas where bicycles are a common mode of transportation, especially in <strong>small localities with high urban density.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-chile-project-details\"><strong>Chile: Project Details<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In this first stage, <strong>a pilot project will be implemented on the Pichilemu-Cahuil route<\/strong>, passing through Punta de Lobos, with an extension of 12 km.
