Codelco Salvador Division<\/strong> added 30 new electric buses to the 155<\/strong> already operating in the Corporation, distributed in El Teniente, Chuquicamata and Andina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As part of the strategy to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, the division in the Atacama Region converted 100% of its fleet to electric buses.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The program includes intelligent bus stops built with recycled materials and powered by solar energy.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n You may also read:<\/strong> Beat Zero Contributes to Sustainable Mobility in Chile with Private Electric Transport<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n In addition, the users of these buses can access a mobile application to know the schedule of the routes and see online the location of their transport.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The new Yutong electric buses<\/strong>, with a range of 350 kilometers, will enable employees of Codelco’s El Salvador Division to travel to the mine site on a daily basis in a clean and sustainable way, helping to reduce emissions from the mine’s operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The project will be implemented under the Charging as a Service (CaaS)<\/strong> modality, which offers a complete infrastructure, maintenance and energy management solution for the charging points, through the construction of the electro-terminals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Claudio Candia, Enel X’s Business and Industry Manager<\/strong>, highlighted the advantages of the project, pointing out that it brings with it a series of positive impacts, which in addition to contributing to the decarbonization of mining operations, directly benefits the community and above all the workers at this Codelco site”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n “We are happy to be able to work together with Enel X and Codelco<\/strong> in the framework of this agreement, which will allow us to make a definitive contribution to the electrification of transport and the energy transition towards clean energy,” said Andr\u00e9s Navarrete, Executive Director of BTG Pactual.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The initiative will allow close to a thousand people to travel daily to and from their homes in modern zero-emission buses, which will reduce emissions by more than 1,980 tons of CO2<\/sub> per year, equivalent to the positive impact of planting 4,960 trees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The “Latam Mobility & Conosur 2024” <\/strong>in Santiago de Chile will bring together the most important companies and leaders related to energy, transportation, fuels, and mobility <\/strong>to showcase the industry’s advancements and perspectives in the country and the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The summit will feature a series of thematic panels and presentations that play a starring role in advancing sustainable mobility,<\/strong> decarbonization, the circular economy, and renewable energies, as well as notable networking for forming key alliances on the path to zero emissions.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The event will take place from August 27 to 28 <\/strong>at the InterContinental Hotel, Santiago<\/strong>.
