Mauricio de Alba, CEO of Scania Colombia<\/strong>, considers that the road to decarbonization is at a turning point, taking into account that the planet requires a change to preserve the quality of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It is a very important and exciting moment, we are clear from Scania that the planet no longer has a chance, it no longer has a plan B, the time is now and we have to make the right actions”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De Alba made a call to join<\/strong> wills to pave the way towards zero emissions through strategies from the private sector and legislation in the public sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scania’s Leadership<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

De Alba pointed out that Scania is a Swedish company with great leadership as a truck manufacturer, focusing on sustainable transportation.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“In all the countries where we have operations we are very aware of the energy matrix of each place and we present a portfolio of solutions that are in line with each country,” he explained.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He pointed out that Colombia is a country with a highly developed gas sector. “We have had that product, already for some years<\/strong> not only trucks, but also buses.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We have also been pioneers in bringing electric tractor-trailers. Our technologies are advancing, we are bringing this vehicle so that we can test it in the Colombian market<\/strong> and the truth is that they have had very good results”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Scania executive pointed out that the amount of investment required to promote electromobility<\/strong> is still insufficient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The challenges are many, an important challenge that I see is the age of the fleet. It is a fleet that is already 19 years old and obviously we would all like to be able to push the button and switch to electromobility, but we know that this is not possible or viable because there is a lack of investment. A great challenge is to renew the fleet towards sustainability.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Another challenge we have is the infrastructure, in some places it is very well developed, but there are others that obviously still deserve a stronger work by the authorities,” he concluded.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
