One of Chile’s<\/strong> objectives is not only to consolidate electromobility<\/strong> in the major capitals, but also for the transformation to reach all regions of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In this sense, the Municipality of Punta Arenas<\/strong> applied at the beginning of the year its initiative \u201cGeneration of infrastructure for electric vehicles\u201d<\/strong>, which is part of its Communal Action Plan for Climate Change<\/strong> (PACCC<\/strong>), to a fund of the Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy<\/strong>, a program financed by the European Union<\/strong> (EU<\/strong>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n A few days ago, the communal administration announced the details of the award of the international financing for an amount of up to 1,000 million dollars<\/strong> for a project that contemplates two stages: a first one of study<\/strong> that will extend until March 2025, where the communal capacities will be measured, the territorial regulations will be reviewed and the location of a charging network<\/strong> will be suggested; and in the second stage it will be of execution<\/strong> from 2026, which aims to install the first and pioneering public electro-lane<\/strong> of the commune.<\/p>\n\n\n\n You may also read:<\/strong> Chile to have 50% of Electric Bus Fleet by 2025<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Mayor of Punta Arenas<\/strong>, Claudio Radonich<\/strong>, revealed that since 2022 the municipality has a Climate Change Committee<\/strong>, becoming the second commune in the country to measure its carbon footprint<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe are pioneers in having a Climate Change Action Plan (PACCC), which is operating and generating all these networks so that in 2030 our city can lower by 30% the emission of greenhouse gases,\u201d stressed the official.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n On August 27 and 28<\/strong>, Latam Mobility<\/strong> arrives in Santiago de Chile<\/strong> for its mobility meeting that seeks to promote development in the Southern Cone<\/strong> and the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It will be two days<\/strong> that will bring together leaders from the public and private sectors<\/strong> to discuss the prospects and developments<\/strong> that seek to massify sustainable mobility<\/strong> and electromobility<\/strong>.
