The Minister of Transport and Telecommunications of Chile, Juan Carlos Mu\u00f1\u00f3z<\/strong>, reported that 44 electric buses have arrived at the Port of Valpara\u00edso<\/strong> and will be part of the public transportation replacement plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The vehicles will operate on five new services<\/strong> to reinforce different areas of the city. Users will be able to pay their fare using cash<\/strong> or by validating with the Metro de Valpara\u00edso card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mu\u00f1\u00f3z noted that the units are of a similar standard<\/strong> to those existing in the Metropolitan region. Meanwhile, the Presidential Delegate of the Valpara\u00edso Region, Sof\u00eda Gonz\u00e1lez, stated that with the arrival of the electric buses, a debt is settled<\/strong> with areas in the zone that have connectivity issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Operation<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The buses will operate on five lines<\/strong>, which are: E-01, which will connect Rodelillo with Estaci\u00f3n Bar\u00f3n; E-02, which will connect Cerro San Roque with Estaci\u00f3n Bar\u00f3n; line E-03 will start in Placilla and end at Plaza Victoria; E-04 will cover the entire Placilla area; and E-05 will run from Playa Ancha to the Puerto station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They will be operated by the Empresa de Trolebuses de Chile<\/strong> and it is expected that their circulation will begin from the first half of September<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The arrival of the vehicles, coming from China, was supervised by Minister Mu\u00f1\u00f3z, who, along with local authorities, highlighted the importance<\/strong> of their entry into operation in five new services and how these represent the greatest modernization boost<\/strong> the city port system has seen in decades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The services will include fare integration<\/strong>, meaning users will be able to access them with the same card<\/strong> they use on the Metro de Valpara\u00edso and elevators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, the authorities emphasized that the entry into operation of this batch of electric buses marks the lead-up to the upcoming bidding process<\/strong> that will be developed in three stages, aiming to fully modernize<\/strong> the public transportation system of Greater Valpara\u00edso and focusing on the incorporation of environmentally friendly vehicles<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On August 27 and 28, Latam Mobility arrives in Santiago, Chile, for its mobility event<\/strong> aimed at boosting development in the Southern Cone and the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
