However, he pointed out that the <strong>climate crisis<\/strong> requires a redoubling of efforts. He pointed out that although the fleet of <strong>hybrid and electric vehicles<\/strong> has increased <strong>26-fold<\/strong> in the last <strong>eight years<\/strong>, there is still a long way to go to accelerate <strong>electrification<\/strong>, especially in key sectors such as <strong>public transport<\/strong> and <strong>logistics<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to <strong>Cabeza<\/strong>, the increase in <strong>electric-only car registrations<\/strong> was remarkable last year, registering a <strong>year-on-year growth of 80%<\/strong>, reaching <strong>15,000 units<\/strong>. However, this figure represents only <strong>1% of the total automotive market<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nevertheless, the executive was optimistic about the <strong>integration of the Mexican market<\/strong> with its trading partners in <strong>North America<\/strong>, which offers significant potential to take advantage of <strong>subsidies from the Inflation Reduction Act in the United States<\/strong>, which will reduce <strong>harmful air pollution<\/strong>, promote <strong>environmental justice<\/strong>, and save families money on their <strong>energy bills<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Francisco Cabeza<\/strong> highlighted the need to create <strong>financial mechanisms<\/strong> that allow <strong>companies<\/strong> and <strong>local governments<\/strong> to finance the <strong>transition to electric mobility<\/strong> at a lower <strong>capital cost<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"572\" src=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/LM-M-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-39702\" srcset=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/LM-M-2.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/LM-M-2-300x168.jpg 300w, https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/LM-M-2-768x429.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-latam-mobility-in-mexico\"><strong>Latam Mobility in Mexico<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Latam Mobility<\/strong>, the <strong>largest sustainable mobility community in Latin America<\/strong>, will close <strong>2024 in Mexico City<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There will be two days, on <strong>October 15 and 16<\/strong>, where <strong>industry leaders<\/strong> and <strong>private sector representatives<\/strong> will provide perspectives on <strong>mobility, electromobility, sustainability<\/strong>, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The meeting will be held at the <strong>World Trade Center<\/strong> in Mexico City.
