will travel to <strong>Europe<\/strong> soon to discuss the <strong>tariffs<\/strong> imposed by the <strong>European Union<\/strong> on <strong>electric vehicles<\/strong> from this country after the investigation carried out on account of <strong>Beijing&#8217;s subsidies<\/strong> to its industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the <strong>EFE news agency<\/strong>, portfolio spokesman <strong>He Yongqian<\/strong> told a press conference that <strong>Wang<\/strong> will meet with <strong>Valdis Dombrovskis<\/strong>, <strong>Executive Vice President of the European Commission<\/strong> and <strong>Trade Commissioner<\/strong>, to discuss the issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cInformation about the visit and the progress of the negotiations will be released in due course,\u201d the spokesman Position<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The announcement of <strong>Wang&#8217;s trip<\/strong> comes on the heels of <strong>Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez&#8217;s<\/strong> visit to <strong>China<\/strong>, where one of the central issues was the <strong>trade tension<\/strong> between <strong>Beijing<\/strong> and <strong>Brussels<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"572\" src=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/BYDc-1024x572.jpg\" Union<\/strong> to reconsider its position, stressing that \u201cthere is no need for a <strong>trade war<\/strong>\u201d and advocated finding a \u201c<strong>middle ground<\/strong>\u201d between the <strong>EU<\/strong> and <strong>China<\/strong> to resolve frictions.<br>For her part, <strong>China&#8217;s Foreign Ministry spokeswoman<\/strong>, <strong>Mao Ning<\/strong>, appreciated the pronouncement of the head of the <strong>Spanish government<\/strong> and urged the <strong>EU<\/strong> to engage in dialogue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In particular, she asked <strong>Brussels<\/strong> to be \u201c<strong>flexible<\/strong>\u201d and \u201c<strong>sincere<\/strong>\u201d, and to work with <strong>Beijing<\/strong> to find \u201ca <strong>middle ground<\/strong>\u201d, addressing <strong>economic frictions<\/strong> \u201cthrough <strong>dialogue and consultation<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>China<\/strong> is demanding that the <strong>EU bloc<\/strong> back down and has raised <strong>trade pressure<\/strong> to avoid <strong>tariffs<\/strong> that <strong>Brussels<\/strong> has justified by the <strong>state subsidies<\/strong> received by Chinese vehicle manufacturers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-background\"><strong>Background<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Last <strong>July<\/strong>, the <strong>European Commission<\/strong> proposed <strong>maximum tariffs of 37.6%<\/strong> on <strong>Chinese electric vehicles<\/strong>, but later adjusted them to <strong>36.3%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chinese companies such as <strong>SAIC<\/strong>, <strong>BYD<\/strong> and <strong>Geely<\/strong> will be the main ones affected, with <strong>specific tariffs<\/strong> for each according to their level of cooperation in the investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In response to the <strong>Brussels tariffs<\/strong>, <strong>Beijing<\/strong> opened an investigation into <strong>European pork<\/strong> that could particularly affect <strong>Spain<\/strong>, given that it is the main exporter of <strong>pork to China<\/strong> among all <strong>EU countries<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The
