Negotiations between Brussels<\/strong> and Beijing<\/strong> on the dispute over electric vehicles<\/strong> have entered the home stretch ahead of a decisive vote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The European Commission<\/strong> formally rejected an offer submitted by Chinese electric vehicle (EV)<\/strong> manufacturers to narrow the price gap that separates them from their EU<\/strong> competitors, a wide gap that Brussels<\/strong> says is a direct result of the hefty subsidies injected by Beijing<\/strong> into this lucrative sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI can confirm that the Commission<\/strong> has thoroughly reviewed these bids on the basis of World Trade Organization<\/strong> and EU<\/strong> anti-subsidy rules,\u201d a Commission spokesman<\/strong> said in remarks reviewed by Euronews<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
