The Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT)<\/strong> and the European Union (EU)<\/strong> signed a letter of intent<\/strong> aimed at promoting a long-term public policy for the development of the Mexican Railway System, seeking to position it as an efficient and sustainable transportation option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n SICT’s goal<\/strong> is to make the Mexican Railway System the leading intermodal and multimodal<\/strong> transportation mode in the country, for freight, passengers, and mixed services alike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Its approach focuses on public benefit<\/strong> through the optimization, improvement, development, operation, and maintenance of the system. The letter of intent<\/strong> is part of the European Union’s global strategy, Global Gateway<\/strong>, which aims to promote a green, digital, and inclusive transition<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
