{"id":40512,"date":"2024-10-01T05:25:00","date_gmt":"2024-10-01T10:25:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/?p=40512"},"modified":"2024-10-01T06:48:28","modified_gmt":"2024-10-01T11:48:28","slug":"more-than-1200-electric-buses-to-be-deployed-in-chile","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/en\/more-than-1200-electric-buses-to-be-deployed-in-chile\/","title":{"rendered":"More than 1,200 Electric Buses to be Deployed in Chile"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The <strong>Evaluation Commission of the Chilean Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications<\/strong> concluded the Economic and Final Evaluation Stage of the bids, by publishing the minutes of the proposed award of the <strong>Road Use Concession Tender<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This process included the analysis of the 86 bids received and proposed to award the five <strong>Service Units<\/strong> in competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After ten months from the beginning of the <strong>Tender for the Concession of Use of Roads<\/strong>, with the publication of the bidding conditions, the <strong>Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications<\/strong> finalizes the evaluation stage of the process that will allow the incorporation of <strong>1,267 electric buses<\/strong> that will operate from 23 terminals, of which currently three are electric and 20 will be implemented as such.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>You may also read:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/en\/zeroca-boosts-electromobility-in-chile-on-paris-agreement-grounds\/\"><strong>Zeroca Boosts Electromobility in Chile on Paris Agreement Grounds<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"572\" src=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/BUS-1024x572.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-40513\" srcset=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/BUS-1024x572.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/BUS-300x168.jpg 300w, https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/BUS-768x429.jpg 768w, https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/BUS.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-world-leadership\"><strong>World Leadership<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Minister of Transport and Telecommunications, <strong>Juan Carlos Mu\u00f1oz<\/strong>, said that with the implementation of this tender, more than 50% of the fleet will be electric buses, which will allow users to have better quality, <strong>universal accessibility<\/strong>, <strong>safety<\/strong>, and <strong>comfort<\/strong> during their journeys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIn total, the tender comprises <strong>121 routes<\/strong>, benefiting more than 3.5 million people in 32 districts of the <strong>Metropolitan Region<\/strong>, such as <strong>La Granja<\/strong>, <strong>San Miguel<\/strong>, <strong>San Ram\u00f3n<\/strong>, <strong>La Florida<\/strong>, and <strong>Pedro Aguirre Cerda<\/strong>, among others,\u201d he said in statements reported by <strong>BN Am\u00e9ricas<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The gradual implementation of <strong>Bid 2<\/strong> is expected to begin during the second half of 2025, once the <strong>General Comptroller&#8217;s Office of the Republic<\/strong> takes note of the award resolution issued by the <strong>Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications<\/strong> and the respective contracts are signed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Paola Tapia<\/strong>, Director of <strong>Metropolitan Public Transportation<\/strong>, stated that \u201cthis is the culmination of a process that ratifies <strong>Santiago<\/strong> as a world reference city in <strong>electromobility<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There was a broad interest and participation of the industry, generating competition in operators, bus manufacturers, charging infrastructure providers, and financing.
