Mexican authorities presented the first 100% electric Mexican passenger bus \u201cTaruk\u201d<\/strong>; which was promoted by the National Council of Humanities, Sciences and Technologies (Conahcyt)<\/strong> with the support of two companies and educational and research institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Delia Aide\u00e9 Orozco Hern\u00e1ndez<\/strong>, Deputy Director of Technological Development, Linking and Innovation of Conahcyt<\/strong>, highlighted that the bus is an example of what can be achieved when forces and talents join<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe hope that Taruk<\/strong> will be the basis of a new era of public and sustainable transportation<\/strong> in our country,\u201d she added in statements reviewed by Infobae<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Conahcyt<\/strong>, this new public transportation will be an alternative to reduce the use of private vehicles, especially those that use fossil fuels<\/strong>, reduce costs and congestion, and promote inclusive urban mobility<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2018Taruk<\/strong>\u2019 means \u2018roadrunner\u2019 in the Yaqui<\/strong> language, and the government decided to name it this way as a tribute to such an important town in Sonora<\/strong> \u2014one of the entities with the highest lithium production<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tests have already begun on Route 46<\/strong> of the Mexico City Passenger Transport Network (RTP)<\/strong>, which covers 22 kilometers with 39 stops that go from Santa Catarina<\/strong> to the Central de Abastos<\/strong>, passing through the Iztacalco<\/strong>, Iztapalapa<\/strong>, and Tl\u00e1huac<\/strong> districts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is expected to be available for testing in all states soon, according to the National Council of Humanities, Sciences and Technologies<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is important to mention that the design of ‘Taruk’<\/strong> is 100% Mexican and that 67% of its parts are nationally sourced<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It has a length of 9.5 meters<\/strong>, a capacity for 69 passengers, a four-hour fast charge<\/strong> with an autonomy of 200 kilometers<\/strong> and, perhaps most importantly, it meets all international standards<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
