This is detailed in the recent report of the <strong>National Statistics Office (ONE)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The agency states that from <strong>2020 to 2024<\/strong>, the number of this type of vehicles in the Dominican Republic has <strong>increased considerably<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In <strong>2023 alone<\/strong>, the country registered a <strong>60% increase<\/strong> in the number of electric vehicles that were already part of the vehicle fleet (<strong>858<\/strong>), compared to the volume in <strong>2020 (342)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to <strong>ONE<\/strong>, the factor contributes to <strong>environmental health<\/strong> and the reduction of <strong>atmospheric emissions<\/strong>, such as <strong>carbon dioxide<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"572\" src=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/VE2-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-41474\" srcset=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/VE2-2.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/VE2-2-300x168.jpg 300w, https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/VE2-2-768x429.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-in-figures\"><strong>In Figures<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In almost four years, at least <strong>3,043 electric vehicles<\/strong> have entered national territory, according to figures from the <strong>Directorate General of Customs (DGA)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Up to July of this year, the country has allowed the entry of <strong>421 battery-powered cars<\/strong>. In <strong>2021, 679<\/strong> entered, and in <strong>2022<\/strong> another <strong>743 units<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The data are contained in a new <strong>ONE report<\/strong> on human settlements in <strong>sustainable mobility<\/strong>, published on its website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Within the <strong>automotive market<\/strong>, there are <strong>new and renowned brands<\/strong> that have dedicated themselves to the manufacture of these vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The biggest impact was the arrival of <strong>Tesla&#8217;s electric truck model<\/strong>, the <strong>Cybertruck<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to local newspaper <strong>Listin<\/strong>, as of <strong>September 2024<\/strong>, the <strong>General Directorate of Internal Taxes (DGII)<\/strong> registered at least <strong>five Cybertrucks<\/strong> in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The registration<\/strong> of the first plate of one of these vehicles took place on <strong>June 6<\/strong>. Subsequently, another one was documented on <strong>July 11<\/strong>, followed by another one on <strong>August 1<\/strong>, <strong>August 2<\/strong>, and finally the last one on <strong>August 5<\/strong> of this year <strong>2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Dominican Republic has made significant progress in the adoption of electric vehicles.
