Leading executives of the automotive industry in Mexico<\/strong> participated in the 2024 edition of Latam Mobility<\/strong> in the Mexican capital, in the panel \u201cTechnological Advances in the automotive sector towards Sustainable Mobility\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anel Hern\u00e1ndez Serrano<\/strong>, Operations Director of Yutong<\/strong>, assured that the adoption of electric vehicles positively impacts the country, due to the foreign investment it generates with 50 industry brands present in the territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe have lived since 2015 with great momentum in electromobility, participating in projects such as the trolleybus in Mexico, we delivered the \u00a8bus Vaiv\u00e9n\u201d, she highlighted.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hernandez<\/strong> emphasized the need to increase trainings that allow having more specialists to help the growth of sustainable mobility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe transition to electric vehicles has an important impact on costs because they have fewer parts than combustion vehicles, which reduces fuel and maintenance costs\u201d, he said.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zeekr<\/strong> and Education Impact<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Edgar Suarez Rubio<\/strong>, Country Manager of Zeekr Mexico<\/strong>, stressed that he has experience of at least a decade in the world of electromobility, so he considers that a key aspect is to educate citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTo remain globally competitive in the automotive industry we must understand electromobility in vehicles, manage from universities to modify careers and train specialists, have government plans and that with the private sector we go the same way with technology to remain at the forefront\u201d, he said.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He assured that Zeekr is committed to facilitate the transition. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“People are already interested, they want to take the leap but there is fear and lack of knowledge, we will hold small-scale seminars to provide knowledge to customers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Banorte<\/strong> and Financing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Marisol Rodr\u00edguez<\/strong>, Automotive Commercial Director of Banorte<\/strong>, highlighted Mexico’s<\/strong> leadership in the sale of low-emission cars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Specifically in the area of financing, the executive pointed out that there is a specific vehicle that is gaining customer preference. This is the plug-in hybrid (PHEV<\/strong>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTechnology influences, based on that there are challenges such as chargers, subsidies on the price of the brand and tax issues. On the financial side, we can offer differentiated rates, it depends a lot on the hand in hand with the brands\u201d, Rodriguez concluded.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

BYD<\/strong> Established in the market<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn Mexico there are currently electromobility careers to forge new generations, it is a trend that is going well in the country\u201d, he stressed.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He considers that although charging infrastructure is still a challenge, there are significant advances with more than 30,000 charging points in Mexican territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He emphasized that BYD<\/strong> has refined its processes over the years so that the value chain is 100% sustainable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe apply technology in all aspects, software and also production, we have industrial parks to improve processes, automated battery, we have 6,000 engineers monitoring. Everything goes hand in hand with sustainability through our integral production and operation program\u201d, explained Hern\u00e1ndez.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
