The Mayor of Natales, Chile, Antonieta Oyarzo<\/strong>, met with representatives of the Regional Ministerial Secretariat of Energy<\/strong>, the Energy Sustainability Agency<\/strong> and the Provincial Presidential Delegation of \u00daltima Esperanza<\/strong> to discuss electromobility projects<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the meeting, various initiatives to introduce electric vehicles<\/strong> were discussed, highlighting the \u201cMy Electric Taxi\u201d program<\/strong>, which seeks to replace combustion cars<\/strong> in light transport with 100% electric vehicles<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oyarzo<\/strong> stressed the importance of informing public transport unions<\/strong>, the main beneficiaries of the program, about the potential of electric mobility<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt is essential that this information<\/strong> is known by the unions<\/strong>, who would be protagonists in the renewal towards a more efficient use of energy<\/strong> and more environmentally friendly<\/strong>,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Joint Effort<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Seremi of Energy, Sergio Cuiti\u00f1o Valdivia<\/strong>, stressed the need to adopt clean technologies<\/strong> in order to advance towards Chile’s goal of carbon neutrality by 2050<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also indicated that the Ministry of Energy<\/strong> is collecting data from the unions<\/strong> to know their interest in electromobility<\/strong> and to develop incentive policies<\/strong> for electric transport<\/strong> in the region. \u201cWe want to encourage its use<\/strong> and review our subsidiary role<\/strong> to promote the entry of electric cars<\/strong>,\u201d said Cuiti\u00f1o<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bogdan Gjuranovic<\/strong>, Coordinator of the \u201cMy Electric Taxi\u201d program<\/strong> of the Energy Sustainability Agency<\/strong>, explained that the program offers co-financing<\/strong> so that cab and bus drivers can acquire an electric vehicle<\/strong> and a domestic charger<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the slogan \u201cGet on board the green future\u201d<\/strong>, \u201cMy Electric Taxi\u201d<\/strong> already operates in regions such as Atacama<\/strong>, Antofagasta<\/strong> and the Metropolitan Region<\/strong>. Now the possibility of implementing the program in Magallanes<\/strong> is being evaluated, considering Natales<\/strong> as a pilot community<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the collaboration between the public and private sectors, Natales could become one of the first municipalities in the region to introduce electric mobility in public transportation, contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and moving towards a more sustainable future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Latam Mobility Returns to Chile in 2025<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

After a successful 2024 tour<\/strong>, Latam Mobility<\/strong> consolidates itself as the most important sustainable mobility community<\/strong> in Latin America<\/strong>, by generating synergy<\/strong> between the actors involved to massify decarbonization<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2025<\/strong>, the Invest In Latam network<\/strong> will continue its impact in the region<\/strong> with confirmed meetings in Colombia<\/strong>, Brazil<\/strong>, Chile<\/strong> and Mexico<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
