Students from the Mechatronics Engineering program at the Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Jocotitlán, in the north of the State of Mexico, have built two vehicles that run on electricity.

According to the Mexican media Milenio, one of these models will compete nationally in a university electromobility contest, while the other will be marketed by a private company.

The students built a simple car that will compete with other university units from all over the country. “The theme is electromobility, vehicles that operate with the use of electricity,” said Elvis Coutiño Moreno, Head of Electromechanical Engineering Division.

“This topic is important because we are looking for electromobility to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels and reduce pollution,” he explained.
