China<\/strong> sued the European Union (EU)<\/strong> before the dispute mechanism of the World Trade Organization (WTO)<\/strong> for the tariffs imposed by the bloc on electric vehicles<\/strong> from the Asian giant<\/strong>, which came into force last week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to EFE news agency<\/strong>, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce<\/strong> informed that the complaint seeks to \u201csafeguard the interests of the development of the electric vehicle industry<\/strong> and global cooperation on \u2018green transformation<\/strong>\u2019\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
China<\/strong> had already appealed last August to the WTO dispute mechanism<\/strong> over preliminary measures taken by the EU<\/strong> in response to subsidies received by Chinese electric car manufacturers<\/strong>, but this new lawsuit refers to the final measure of applying tariffs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
