The tariffs<\/strong> approved by the European Union<\/strong> of up to 35.3%<\/strong> on the import of electric vehicles<\/strong> from China<\/strong> entered into force, after their publication this Tuesday in the Official Journal of the European Union<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the EFE news agency<\/strong>, the EU executive<\/strong> will apply a tariff of 35.3%<\/strong> to the Chinese manufacturer SAIC<\/strong> (MG<\/strong> and Maxus<\/strong>, among other brands), 18.8%<\/strong> to Geely<\/strong> and 17%<\/strong> to BYD<\/strong>, for a maximum of five years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The measure will also affect Western companies that produce in China<\/strong>, such as the American Tesla<\/strong>, to which a tariff of 7.8%<\/strong> will be applied, while others that have cooperated with the commission<\/strong> in the investigation it carried out before approving the tariffs will be charged a rate of 20.7%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n
