China<\/strong> and the European Union (EU)<\/strong> have made progress in negotiations on a proposed price compromise plan<\/strong> for Chinese electric vehicles<\/strong>, a spokesman for the Asian country’s Ministry of Commerce<\/strong> said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Technical teams from China<\/strong> and the EU<\/strong> held five rounds of talks<\/strong> in Beijing<\/strong> from Nov. 2-7<\/strong>, engaging in in-depth discussions on the details of the plan that was submitted by the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products<\/strong>, a portfolio spokesperson confirmed in an online statement in response to media questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Chinese side<\/strong> believes that the overall progress of negotiations on the basis of the chamber’s plan, which has been proposed on behalf of the industry<\/strong>, will help maintain mutual trust<\/strong>, facilitate consensus building<\/strong> and resolve differences through consultations, so as to avoid an escalation of trade frictions<\/strong>, the spokesman said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
