{"id":43549,"date":"2024-12-04T05:20:49","date_gmt":"2024-12-04T10:20:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/?p=43549"},"modified":"2024-12-03T19:10:42","modified_gmt":"2024-12-04T00:10:42","slug":"chile-introduces-new-electric-buses-in-antofagasta","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/en\/chile-introduces-new-electric-buses-in-antofagasta\/","title":{"rendered":"Chile introduces new electric buses in Antofagasta"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Antofagasta<\/strong>, Chile took a new step towards <strong>electromobility<\/strong> with the incorporation of the first four <strong>electric buses<\/strong> on line <strong>107<\/strong>, in the northern sector of the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to local media <strong>Soy Chile<\/strong>, the arrival of the units, which took more than a year of work, was made possible thanks to an investment of <strong>$11 billion<\/strong> from the <strong>Regional Government (GORE)<\/strong>, aimed at renewing the public transport fleets and improving the quality of the service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The incorporation of these first buses is only the beginning. According to the <strong>GORE<\/strong>, the acquisition of new units for other public transport lines in <strong>Antofagasta<\/strong> is already underway. These new buses are proof that things are being done right. They will not only offer a more comfortable service for passengers, but also better working conditions for drivers,\u201d <strong>he said.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mart\u00ednez<\/strong> also expressed the intention to extend this modernization to other municipalities in the region. \u201cOur goal is for the entire public transport fleet to reach this standard, including localities such as <strong>Calama<\/strong> and <strong>Tocopilla<\/strong>,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The implementation of these vehicles responds to a strategy of adaptation to the requirements of <strong>electromobility<\/strong>. <strong>Alberto Rodr\u00edguez<\/strong>, Representative of Line <strong>107<\/strong>, highlighted the effort behind this project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe started working on this initiative more than a year ago because we believe that the future of collective transport is in <strong>electromobility<\/strong>. We visited <strong>Santiago<\/strong> to learn how these buses operate and we resolved doubts about charging.
