Chile’s Minister of Transport, Juan Carlos Mu\u00f1oz<\/strong>, expressed the importance of electromobility for the country through public policies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cElectromobility has been an important policy that transcends governments, and there are commitments that we have been making as a country. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
For example, by 2035, all new vehicles entering the country must have zero emissions\u201d, he said at the forum <\/strong>\u2018Electromobility in Chile: Driving the future of sustainable transport\u2019, organized by La Tercera and La Araucana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He valued the increase in electric vehicles, but acknowledged that there are countries that are advancing much faster than Chile<\/strong>. For that reason, he points to the relevance they have given to public transportation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regarding private vehicles, Mu\u00f1oz<\/strong> indicated that an active role of the State is key to overcome obstacles in terms of infrastructure and accessibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From the private sector, Francisco Sep\u00falveda<\/strong>, General Manager of Caja La Araucana<\/strong>, pointed out that \u201cfor us, sustainability is not only a commitment, but also a way of contributing to the social and economic well-being of our members\u201d<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In this line, he presented the Green Commitment Credit<\/strong>, which offers preferential conditions for the acquisition of electric vehicles, such as cars, scooters, motorcycles and bicycles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For her part, Andrea Castro<\/strong>, Copec Voltex’s General Manager<\/strong>, explained how the company is setting the pace in the creation of charging infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe are working so that, by the end of this year, all regions of the country will have fast chargers\u201d<\/strong>, she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She also stressed that Copec’s<\/strong> focus is not only on expanding the network, but also on ensuring that it is efficient and sustainable: \u201cWe want this change to be not only an urban trend, but to reach all communities, because electromobility must be inclusive\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After a successful 2024<\/strong> tour, Latam Mobility<\/strong> consolidates itself as the most important sustainable mobility community in Latin America<\/strong>, by generating synergy among the actors involved to massify decarbonization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2025<\/strong>, the Invest In Latam<\/strong> network will continue its impact in the region with confirmed meetings in Colombia<\/strong>, Brazil<\/strong>, Chile<\/strong> and Mexico<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
