The Inter-American Development Bank (BID)<\/strong> approved a US$38 million<\/strong> loan and a US$9 million<\/strong> non-reimbursable financing to increase electric and inclusive mobility<\/strong> and resilience in public transportation in Panama City<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The operation approved by the Executive Board of BID<\/strong> will support the electrification of the bus fleet operated by the MiBus<\/strong> system at the El Chorrillo Operations and Execution Center<\/strong> and the improvement of public transportation infrastructure quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It will directly benefit approximately 7,700 people<\/strong>, including 5,945 residents<\/strong> from areas influenced by climate urbanism<\/strong> works in the districts of Calidonia<\/strong> and Betania<\/strong>, and 1,828 daily users<\/strong> of the transportation service at the 5 de Mayo Station<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
