The Mayor of Bogot\u00e1, Carlos Fernando Gal\u00e1n<\/strong>, proposed to the National Government to work towards a future where sustainable mobility is prioritized, generating zero or low emissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In this regard, the District<\/strong> has already presented a proposal to activate article 172<\/strong> of its National Development Plan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Due to the lack of resources, Mayor Gal\u00e1n<\/strong> sought alternatives to implement the articles of the National Development Plan<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The District<\/strong> covered the deficit this year and will work to meet the goals of the National Development Plan<\/strong> and the city\u2019s goals for a sustainable public transport system, such as the extension project to Soacha<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We submitted a project ready for review to the Ministry of Transport<\/strong> in November of this year, which allows for the operation of 269 bi-articulated electric buses in Bogot\u00e1 and Soacha<\/strong>, specifically for the extension of the Soacha trunk line to the portal yard<\/strong>,\u201d said Mar\u00eda Fernanda Ortiz<\/strong>, manager of TransMilenio<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis will allow us to reduce particulate matter emissions by more than 53%<\/strong>, and cut 93%<\/strong> of CO2 emissions in Bogot\u00e1 and the region<\/strong>,” she emphasized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In this way, the municipality<\/strong> invites working together with the National Government<\/strong> to renew the fleet with zero or low emissions, in addition to improving service quality and increasing system capacity for the benefit of the citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After a successful 2024<\/strong> tour, Latam Mobility<\/strong> consolidates itself as the most important sustainable mobility community in Latin America<\/strong>, by generating synergy among the actors involved to massify decarbonization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
