The European Union (EU)<\/strong> and the French Development Agency (AFD)<\/strong> support the Dominican Republic<\/strong> in implementing the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan<\/strong> for Greater Santo Domingo and Santiago with loans and grants<\/strong> exceeding 138 million euros<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the local publication Diario Libre<\/strong>, AFD<\/strong> has invested 128 million euros<\/strong> in technical assistance with experts in mass transportation such as the Santo Domingo Metro<\/strong> and cable cars<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The plan also strengthens and develops the capacity of line 1 of the Santo Domingo Metro<\/strong>, including the expansion of its five elevated stations to improve capacity and the purchase of additional rail cars<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
