The National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI)<\/a><\/strong> reported that from January to November 2024<\/strong>, 108,943 hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric cars<\/strong> were sold in Mexico<\/strong>, representing a 70.2%<\/strong> increase compared to the sales volume reported during the same period in 2023<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In November<\/strong> alone, sales of hybrid and electric vehicles<\/strong> grew by 41.1%<\/strong> year-over-year, with 12,147 units sold<\/strong>, which means an additional 3,540 units<\/strong> of new technologies<\/strong> were sold in the country compared to the same month in 2023<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The growing popularity of electric or hybrid technology vehicles<\/strong> has made Mexico<\/strong> an attractive destination for brands such as Tesla<\/strong>, BYD<\/strong>, Audi<\/strong>, Volkswagen<\/strong>, BMW<\/strong>, GM<\/strong>, Ford<\/strong>, Toyota<\/strong>, JAC<\/strong>, among others, to introduce new models for their transition to electromobility<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n You may also read:<\/strong> General Motors leads the transition to electric mobility in Mexico<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Gabriel Padilla<\/strong>, general director of the National Auto Parts Industry (INA)<\/strong>, told El Financiero<\/strong> that \u201cwe are estimating that by this new year, we will manage to attract close to 2.7 billion dollars<\/strong>, which would represent an increase.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n The executive noted that by the end of 2024<\/strong>, the industry managed to attract around 2.55 billion dollars<\/strong> in investment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In Mexico<\/strong>, several models such as the BYD Dolphin electric<\/strong>, the Chevrolet Equinox EV<\/strong>, the Volvo EX30<\/strong>, Nissan’s e-Power technology<\/strong>, as well as Tesla’s Model X, Y, and 3<\/strong>, the JAC E30X<\/strong>, and other offerings from Chinese brands like Zeekr<\/strong>, GWM<\/strong>, and Geely<\/strong>, will begin to flood the market and dealerships in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As of November 2024<\/strong>, the share of hybrid and electric vehicle sales<\/strong> reached 8.2%<\/strong> of total sales.
