{"id":45412,"date":"2025-01-29T05:25:00","date_gmt":"2025-01-29T10:25:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/?p=45412"},"modified":"2025-01-29T09:55:34","modified_gmt":"2025-01-29T14:55:34","slug":"mexico-sonora-works-on-partnerships-with-foxconn","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/en\/mexico-sonora-works-on-partnerships-with-foxconn\/","title":{"rendered":"Mexico: Sonora works on partnerships with Foxconn"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The <strong>Governor of Sonora, Mexico, Alfonso Durazo Monta\u00f1o<\/strong> met with executives from the company <strong>Foxconn<\/strong> to establish an <strong>Electromobility Ecosystem<\/strong> in the state, where the <strong>sustainable development<\/strong> promoted over the last <strong>three years<\/strong> with the implementation of the <strong>Sonora Sustainable Energy Plan<\/strong> can be leveraged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>state leader<\/strong> stated that he held a meeting with <strong>company executives<\/strong> who have investments of around <strong>244 million dollars<\/strong>, to present the <strong>competitive advantages<\/strong> that <strong>Sonora<\/strong> offers for the development of <strong>electromobility<\/strong>, especially in the area of <strong>electric trucks, electric cars<\/strong>, and <strong>battery manufacturing<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>governor<\/strong> mentioned that there is a <strong>work plan<\/strong> established with this <strong>company<\/strong> so that <strong>Sonora<\/strong> can develop this type of business in the <strong>electromobility and semiconductor industry<\/strong>, aligned with <strong>sustainable development<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"572\" src=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/Fox-1-1024x572.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-45408\" srcset=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/Fox-1-1024x572.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/Fox-1-300x168.jpg 300w, https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/Fox-1-768x429.jpg 768w, https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/Fox-1.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-commercial-partnership\"><strong>Commercial Partnership<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Durazo<\/strong> reported that they will soon receive a <strong>Foxconn trade mission<\/strong> in <strong>Sonora<\/strong>. \u201cThis is one of the <strong>first agreements<\/strong> we have; they are coming to <strong>visit the state<\/strong> and verify all the <strong>comparative advantages<\/strong> we presented to them in our <strong>presentation<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIf any of these <strong>projects materialize<\/strong>, it would obviously <strong>transform the state<\/strong>, giving it <strong>extraordinary advantages<\/strong> in terms of <strong>electromobility<\/strong>, particularly for <strong>battery manufacturing<\/strong> and <strong>electric car production<\/strong>, which are, by far, the <strong>economy of the future<\/strong>,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Francisco Acu\u00f1a M\u00e9ndez<\/strong>, <strong>President of the Sustainable Development Council of the State of Sonora (Codeso)<\/strong>, mentioned that during this <strong>work tour<\/strong>, there was also a meeting with the <strong>group of 30 young Sonorans<\/strong> who are currently <strong>training in electromobility and semiconductors in Taiwan<\/strong>.
