Strategy Expands Across Mexican Territory"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Tamaulipas<\/strong>, through the <strong>Secretariat of Urban Development and Environment (SEDUMA)<\/strong>, has joined the efforts of the <strong>Federal Government of Mexico<\/strong> to lay the foundations for an <strong>effective transition<\/strong> towards the use of <strong>electric buses<\/strong> in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At a meeting organized by the <strong>Secretariat of Environment and Natural Resources (SEMARNAT)<\/strong>, the <strong>Secretariat of Science, Humanities, Technology, and Innovation (SECIHTI)<\/strong>, and the <strong>National Bank of Public Works and Services (BANOBRAS)<\/strong>, discussions were held on the demand for <strong>electric transport units<\/strong> over the next <strong>ten years<\/strong>, both at the <strong>state<\/strong> and <strong>municipal<\/strong> levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The head of <strong>SEDUMA<\/strong>, <strong>Karina Lizeth Sald\u00edvar Lartigue<\/strong>, stated that it is of interest to the governor, <strong>Am\u00e9rico Villarreal Anaya<\/strong>, that <strong>Tamaulipas<\/strong> participates alongside the <strong>federal government<\/strong> to generate <strong>economies of scale<\/strong> in the production of <strong>electric buses<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"572\" src=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/MX-1-1024x572.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-45572\" srcset=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/MX-1-1024x572.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/MX-1-300x168.jpg 300w, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>She also expressed the intention to ensure that this change is <strong>financially viable<\/strong> for the <strong>purchase or rental<\/strong> of the <strong>units<\/strong>, an option that could be applied in the <strong>BRT project<\/strong> being prepared for the municipalities of <strong>Tampico, Ciudad Madero, and Altamira<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-action-lines\"><strong>Action Lines<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sald\u00edvar<\/strong> explained that, during this meeting, the organizers requested <strong>state and municipal governments<\/strong> to present <strong>detailed information<\/strong> about their <strong>public transport fleets<\/strong>, in order to understand their <strong>characteristics, dimensions, and passenger capacity<\/strong> by city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, a <strong>projection of units<\/strong> of <strong>9.5-meter electric buses<\/strong> required annually over the <strong>next decade<\/strong> was requested, as this model has been chosen for its <strong>efficiency<\/strong> in <strong>route operations<\/strong> and its <strong>capacity<\/strong> to replace <strong>smaller vehicles<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She added that this initiative to <strong>standardize information<\/strong> at a <strong>national level<\/strong> and ensure an <strong>efficient analysis<\/strong> represents a <strong>firm step<\/strong> toward strengthening <strong>sustainable mobility in Mexico<\/strong>, aiming to <strong>reduce pollutant emissions<\/strong> and improve the <strong>service quality<\/strong> of <strong>urban passenger transport<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"
