{"id":45916,"date":"2025-02-12T05:25:00","date_gmt":"2025-02-12T10:25:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/?p=45916"},"modified":"2025-02-12T05:32:04","modified_gmt":"2025-02-12T10:32:04","slug":"antioquia-registers-exponential-growth-in-electric-vehicles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/en\/antioquia-registers-exponential-growth-in-electric-vehicles\/","title":{"rendered":"Antioquia registers exponential growth in electric vehicles"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>An analysis by <strong>Fenalco Antioquia<\/strong> indicates that <strong>Colombia<\/strong> has experienced exponential growth in the registration of <strong>new hybrid and electric vehicles<\/strong> over the past two years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In <strong>2024<\/strong>, <strong>9,178 new electric vehicles<\/strong> were registered, representing a <strong>150% increase<\/strong> compared to the previous year (<strong>3,677 registrations<\/strong>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, <strong>2025<\/strong> began with solid growth, as <strong>966 new electric vehicles<\/strong> were registered in <strong>January<\/strong>: <strong>345% more<\/strong> than in <strong>2024<\/strong> (<strong>217 registrations<\/strong>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mar\u00eda Jos\u00e9 Bernal Gaviria<\/strong>, executive director of <strong>Fenalco Antioquia<\/strong>, stated that the department, in addition to also showing exponential growth, is an <strong>\u201cimportant client\u201d<\/strong> of <strong>electric vehicles<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"876\" height=\"636\" src=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/image-2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-45919\" srcset=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/image-2.png 876w, https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/image-2-300x218.png 300w, https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/image-2-768x558.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 876px) 100vw, 876px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-by-the-numbers\"><strong>By the numbers<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In <strong>2024<\/strong>, <strong>1,684 new electric vehicles<\/strong> were registered, representing a <strong>52.3% increase<\/strong> compared to the previous year (<strong>1,106 registrations<\/strong>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Antioquia<\/strong> accounted for <strong>18%<\/strong> of these vehicles, making it the second-largest demand area after <strong>Bogot\u00e1 DC<\/strong> (which is the largest market for this sector, with <strong>57%<\/strong>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Regarding <strong>hybrids<\/strong>: in <strong>2024<\/strong>, <strong>7,361 new hybrid vehicles<\/strong> were registered, representing a <strong>51.1% increase<\/strong> compared to the previous year (<strong>4,872 registrations<\/strong>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Antioquia<\/strong> accounted for <strong>17%<\/strong> of these vehicles, making it the second-largest demand area after <strong>Bogot\u00e1<\/strong> (which is the largest market for this sector, with <strong>42%<\/strong>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-latam-mobility-nbsp-on-nbsp-february-20-2025-nbsp-in-nbsp-monterrey\"><strong>Latam Mobility<\/strong>&nbsp;on&nbsp;<strong>February 20, 2025<\/strong>&nbsp;in&nbsp;<strong>Monterrey<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>On&nbsp;<strong>February 20, 2025<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Latam Mobility<\/strong>, the largest sustainable mobility community in&nbsp;<strong>Latin America<\/strong>&nbsp;begins its tour in&nbsp;<strong>Monterrey, Mexico<\/strong>, with the second edition of the \u201c<strong>North America Mobility Summit 2025<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/Monterrey-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-44518\" srcset=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/Monterrey-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/Monterrey-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/Monterrey-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/Monterrey-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/Monterrey.jpg 1800w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mexico<\/strong>&nbsp;has become an important bastion for the region with the arrival of major brands in the automotive industry, with interesting plans to install electric vehicle plants.
