Donald Trump<\/strong> continues taking actions that undermine tax incentives<\/strong> to promote electric mobility<\/strong> in the United States<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This week, the Federal Department of Transportation<\/strong> sent a letter<\/strong> to the states<\/strong> informing them that it was suspending approval of the spending plans<\/strong> for the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Program<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Trump administration<\/strong> is blocking funds<\/strong> allocated to states<\/strong> to support the construction of a national electric vehicle (EV) charging network<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Former President Joe Biden<\/strong> announced funding<\/strong> in support of his goal to build a national network of electric vehicle chargers<\/strong> that is convenient, affordable, and made in America<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The program, called National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI, by its initials in English)<\/strong>, was designed to provide $5 billion<\/strong> to finance the construction of charging networks<\/strong> along the highways<\/strong>, and the Federal Highway Administration<\/strong> had approved the states\u2019 plans<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Emily Biondi<\/strong>, from the Federal Highway Administration<\/strong>, stated that the agency<\/strong> was rescinding the approval<\/strong> of all state plans<\/strong> for the program<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Biondi<\/strong> noted that the new directive from the Department of Transportation<\/strong> decided to review the underlying policies<\/strong> related to the implementation of the NEVI Formula Program<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The letter<\/strong> explained that no new obligations<\/strong> can be made under the NEVI Formula Program<\/strong> until the final updated NEVI Formula Program Guide<\/strong> is published and new state plans<\/strong> are submitted and approved.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Donald Trump continues taking actions that undermine tax incentives to promote electric mobility in the United States.
