{"id":46086,"date":"2025-02-14T05:25:55","date_gmt":"2025-02-14T10:25:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/?p=46086"},"modified":"2025-02-14T15:20:11","modified_gmt":"2025-02-14T20:20:11","slug":"chilean-firefighters-unveil-first-electric-water-tanker-in-latin-america","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/en\/chilean-firefighters-unveil-first-electric-water-tanker-in-latin-america\/","title":{"rendered":"Chilean Firefighters Unveil First Electric Water Tanker in Latin America"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The <strong>Fire Department of Santiago (CBS)<\/strong> becomes the <strong>first firefighting institution in Latin America<\/strong> to have an <strong>electric fire truck<\/strong>, with support from <strong>SQM Lithium<\/strong> and <strong>Copec Voltex<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Rosenbauer RTX<\/strong> was presented to the public, reaffirming the institution&#8217;s <strong>pioneering position<\/strong> that has inspired it for <strong>over 160 years of history<\/strong> and its commitment to incorporating <strong>cutting-edge technologies<\/strong> in <strong>community protection and safety<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Superintendent of the Santiago Fire Department<\/strong>, <strong>Gabriel Huerta Torres<\/strong>, revealed that it has been a <strong>long journey<\/strong> since this <strong>innovative idea was conceived in 2022<\/strong>, becoming a <strong>symbol of continuous effort<\/strong> to improve <strong>operational efficiency<\/strong> and <strong>reduce the environmental impact<\/strong> of their activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"572\" src=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Chile-1-2-1024x572.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-46079\" srcset=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Chile-1-2-1024x572.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Chile-1-2-300x168.jpg 300w, https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Chile-1-2-768x429.jpg 768w, https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Chile-1-2.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis milestone is part of the <strong>electromobility commitment<\/strong> we have undertaken because we want to contribute to a <strong>cleaner and more sustainable future<\/strong> for the planet,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-process-details\"><strong>Process Details<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>project<\/strong> was assigned to the <strong>5th Fire Company of Santiago<\/strong>, <strong>Bomba Arturo Prat<\/strong>, and was jointly financed by <strong>private companies SQM Lithium<\/strong> and <strong>Copec Voltex<\/strong>, along with the <strong>CBS<\/strong> itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the <strong>arrival of the machine<\/strong>, the phase of <strong>standardization<\/strong> and <strong>training<\/strong> now begins so that <strong>volunteers<\/strong> can learn about the <strong>new truck technology<\/strong> and its <strong>equipment<\/strong>.
