buses<\/strong> in operation outside of <strong>China<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> According to data from <strong>Xinhua<\/strong>, a <strong>Chinese news agency<\/strong>, the southern capital tops this list followed by <strong>Delhi<\/strong>, with <strong>1,650 buses<\/strong>, and <strong>Bogot\u00e1<\/strong>, with <strong>1,486 electric vehicles<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, it has approximately <strong>2,500 electric buses<\/strong> in circulation, with sustained growth thanks to successive <strong>tenders<\/strong> that have allowed the renewal of the vehicle fleet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The most recent one, held in <strong>2024<\/strong>, will incorporate <strong>1,267 new electric buses<\/strong>, increasing the share of <strong>electromobility<\/strong> in the <strong>public transport system<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"572\" src=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Chile-5-1024x572.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-46125\" srcset=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Chile-5-1024x572.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Chile-5-300x168.jpg 300w, https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Chile-5-768x429.jpg 768w, https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Chile-5.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the <strong>Diario AS Chile<\/strong>, of the mentioned <strong>tender<\/strong>, <strong>70.6%<\/strong> was awarded to <strong>Grupo Cabal<\/strong>, a <strong>bus distribution company<\/strong>, which will deliver <strong>895 electric buses<\/strong> manufactured by the <strong>Chinese company Zhong Tong<\/strong>, in collaboration with <strong>Gran Am\u00e9rica<\/strong> and <strong>Consorcio Conecta<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-key-figures\"><strong>Key figures<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tomislav Matijevic<\/strong>, CEO of <strong>Grupo Cabal<\/strong>, stated to <strong>AS Chile<\/strong> that the <strong>tender<\/strong> allows reaching a total of <strong>3,681 electric buses<\/strong>, representing <strong>57% of electric buses<\/strong> in the system in relation to the total fleet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe progress has been remarkable towards a <strong>cleaner<\/strong>, less <strong>noisy<\/strong>, and less <strong>polluted<\/strong> city, and it will continue to be so in the coming years, with a <strong>public policy<\/strong> that is already transcending from government to government,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe <strong>current administration<\/strong> has been clear in dedicating all its efforts in this line, as is also happening in the <strong>public transport<\/strong> of <strong>regional cities<\/strong> such as <strong>Antofagasta<\/strong>, <strong>Valpara\u00edso<\/strong>, <strong>Copiap\u00f3<\/strong>, <strong>Rancagua<\/strong>, <strong>Coquimbo<\/strong>, and soon <strong>Concepci\u00f3n<\/strong>, <strong>Arica<\/strong>, <strong>Ovalle<\/strong>, and others,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>new and modern buses<\/strong> include, among other things, <strong>USB charging ports<\/strong>, <strong>air conditioning<\/strong>, <strong>Wi-Fi network<\/strong>, and low <strong>noise levels<\/strong>, which have already generated tangible benefits in terms of <strong>energy efficiency<\/strong> and <strong>sustainability<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"
