{"id":46226,"date":"2025-02-19T05:15:00","date_gmt":"2025-02-19T10:15:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/?p=46226"},"modified":"2025-02-19T05:20:20","modified_gmt":"2025-02-19T10:20:20","slug":"research-presents-unprecedented-advances-for-the-development-of-electric-mobility","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/en\/research-presents-unprecedented-advances-for-the-development-of-electric-mobility\/","title":{"rendered":"Research presents unprecedented advances for the development of electric mobility"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Investigaciones de <strong>Texas A&amp;M<\/strong> y la <strong>Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E)<\/strong> del <strong>Departamento de Energ\u00eda de Estados Unidos<\/strong> presentaron avances importantes para el desarrollo de la <strong>electromovilidad<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p>Seg\u00fan rese\u00f1a <strong>World Trade Energy<\/strong>, este proyecto de <strong>tres a\u00f1os<\/strong> y <strong>3 millones de d\u00f3lares<\/strong> pretende perfeccionar el proceso de conversi\u00f3n del <strong>coque de petr\u00f3leo<\/strong> en <strong>grafito sint\u00e9tico<\/strong> \u2014un componente vital para los <strong>sistemas de almacenamiento de energ\u00eda<\/strong>, como las <strong>bater\u00edas de iones de litio<\/strong>\u2014 y hacerlo mucho m\u00e1s eficiente y menos perjudicial para el <strong>medio ambiente<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>\u201cNo s\u00f3lo estamos resolviendo un problema, en cierto sentido esto tambi\u00e9n reduce las emisiones\u201d<\/strong>, afirma el <strong>Dr. Faruque Hasan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"572\" src=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/ME-1-1024x572.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-46222\" srcset=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/ME-1-1024x572.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/ME-1-300x168.jpg 300w, https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/ME-1-768x429.jpg 768w, https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/ME-1.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-caracteristicas-del-proyecto\"><strong>Caracter\u00edsticas del proyecto<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p>El Dr. Micah Green, jefe asociado del <strong>Departamento de Ingenier\u00eda Qu\u00edmica Artie McFerrin<\/strong> de la Universidad A&amp;M de Texas, explica que \u201cnuestra subvenci\u00f3n consiste en cambiar el proceso mediante el uso de catalizadores para poder convertir el coque de petr\u00f3leo en grafito sint\u00e9tico, que es bueno para aplicaciones como las bater\u00edas y para reducir la dependencia estadounidense de fuentes extranjeras de grafito\u201d.<\/p>\n\n<p>El <strong>coque de petr\u00f3leo<\/strong>, producto del refinado del petr\u00f3leo, puede convertirse en <strong>grafito<\/strong>, pero el m\u00e9todo tradicional consume mucho tiempo y energ\u00eda, ya que requiere calentar el material hasta <strong>5.000\u00b0 Fahrenheit<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p>Los investigadores de <strong>Texas A&amp;M<\/strong>, en cambio, han inventado la <strong>grafitizaci\u00f3n catal\u00edtica<\/strong>, que reduce dr\u00e1sticamente el <strong>tiempo de procesamiento<\/strong>, as\u00ed como la <strong>temperatura necesaria<\/strong> para el tratamiento.<\/p>\n\n<p>El <strong>innovador m\u00e9todo<\/strong> aumenta la <strong>productividad<\/strong> y reduce al mismo tiempo las <strong>emisiones de carbono<\/strong> y los <strong>costos<\/strong> de la producci\u00f3n convencional de <strong>grafito sint\u00e9tico<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p>Este esfuerzo forma parte de la iniciativa <strong>VISION OPEN<\/strong> de <strong>ARPA-E<\/strong>, cuyo objetivo es mejorar distintos <strong>componentes cruciales de la industria energ\u00e9tica<\/strong>, como la <strong>fusi\u00f3n nuclear<\/strong>, la <strong>integraci\u00f3n en red<\/strong> y el <strong>desarrollo de productos qu\u00edmicos y combustibles sostenibles<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p>La iniciativa pretende no s\u00f3lo mitigar las <strong>emisiones<\/strong>, sino tambi\u00e9n fortalecer las <strong>cadenas de suministro nacionales<\/strong>, transformando el <strong>coque de petr\u00f3leo<\/strong> en <strong>bienes \u00fatiles de carbono<\/strong> en lugar de quemarlo como <strong>combustible<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Investigaciones de Texas A&amp;M y la Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) del Departamento de Energ\u00eda de Estados Unidos presentaron avances importantes para el desarrollo de la electromovilidad.
