The <strong>remaining 14 units<\/strong> will be integrated in the coming days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>You may also read<\/strong>: <a href=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/en\/byd-revolutionizes-the-market-with-1000-kw-chargers-imminent-rollout-in-china\/\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-theme-palette-1-color\">BYD Revolutionizes the Market with 1,000 kW Chargers: Imminent Rollout in China<\/mark><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-a-key-advancement-for-sustainable-mobility\"><strong>A Key Advancement for Sustainable Mobility<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The official handover of the <strong>electric trolleybuses in Quito<\/strong> took place at <strong>Parque de la Ni\u00f1a<\/strong>, in the northern part of the city, attended by <strong>Mayor Pabel Mu\u00f1oz<\/strong>, representatives of the Chinese manufacturer, and citizens who use the service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> During the event, Mu\u00f1oz emphasized the significance of this initiative in <strong>reducing carbon emissions and improving air quality<\/strong> in Ecuador\u2019s capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the mayor, the implementation of these vehicles will have an environmental impact equivalent to <strong>planting 400,000 additional trees<\/strong>, reinforcing Quito\u2019s position as a model for <strong>eco-friendly mobility<\/strong> in Latin America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-features-and-benefits-of-the-new-trolleybuses\"><strong>Features and Benefits of the New Trolleybuses<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>These <strong>electric trolleybuses in Quito<\/strong> will replace part of the fleet that has been operating for <strong>over 30 years<\/strong>, serving <strong>150,000 passengers daily<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, the <strong>Troleb\u00fas<\/strong> system directly impacts <strong>59.37% of Quito\u2019s population<\/strong>, making it a key component of urban transportation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>General Manager of Quito\u2019s Public Metropolitan Passenger Transport Company (EPMTPQ), Xavier V\u00e1squez<\/strong>, highlighted the benefits of this new fleet:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2705 <strong>Reduction of 8,700 tons of CO2 per year<\/strong><br>\u2705 <strong>50% decrease in noise pollution<\/strong><br>\u2705 <strong>Improved safety and accessibility for passengers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new <strong>electric trolleybuses in Quito<\/strong> are articulated, <strong>18 meters long<\/strong>, and have a capacity of <strong>160 passengers<\/strong>. Additionally, they include dedicated spaces for passengers with reduced mobility, bicycles, and baby strollers.
