In a significant move towards sustainable mobility in Barranquilla, Promigas and Gases del Caribe<\/strong> have supported the renewal of the city’s Transmetro public transport fleet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This effort, in collaboration with the Mayor’s Office, City Management, Metropolitan Area, Transmetro, local transport operators, Skandia and Marcopolo, marks a major public-private initiative for cleaner urban mobility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first phase includes 40 new buses<\/strong>, combining articulated (140-passenger capacity) and standard (90-passenger) models. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All units feature EURO VI natural gas technology<\/strong>, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 16%<\/strong> and significantly improving air quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clean, comfortable and high-tech buses<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The new vehicles are equipped with efficient air conditioning<\/strong>, 100% electronic fare collection<\/strong>, facial recognition cameras and driver fatigue monitoring systems<\/strong>, Wi-Fi and USB charging ports<\/strong>, and full accessibility<\/strong> for people with disabilities and users with assistance dogs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This advanced fleet achieves a 99% reduction in particulate matter emissions<\/strong> and a 30% cut in greenhouse gas emissions<\/strong>, positioning Barranquilla as a leader in clean public transportation in Colombia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
