MegaFlux<\/strong>, a company specialized in electromobility, has estimated that Mexico will need around 400 thousand electric buses in the next two decades<\/strong> to replace its aging public transportation fleet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This transition responds to the growing need to modernize the urban mobility system and reduce polluting emissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently, the average age of the trucks and buses that provide service in the country is around 20 years<\/strong>, which makes it urgent to implement sustainable solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Roberto Gottfried<\/strong>, CEO of MegaFlux<\/strong>, the electrification of public transportation is not only an environmental necessity, but also a viable economic strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOperating an electric bus is more economical than a hydrocarbon one, as the savings in fuel and maintenance justify the initial investment,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taruk, The First Electric Bus \u201cMade in Mexico\u201d.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

MegaFlux <\/strong>has developed the Taruk <\/strong>model, the first electric bus manufactured in Mexico, designed for medium-sized cities and with a capacity for 60 passengers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This vehicle has been certified as \u201cMade in Mexico<\/strong>\u201d and is the result of a collaboration between MegaFlux <\/strong>and Dina<\/strong>, the company responsible for the construction of the chassis and bodywork. Initial production contemplates 2,000 units per year<\/strong>, with the possibility of scaling up to 6,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The UNAM Engineering Institute<\/strong> and UAM Iztapalapa<\/strong> have participated in the validation of the bus systems, ensuring their efficiency and safety. In addition, the battery pack has been designed and assembled in Mexico, with imported lithium cells.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cost of the bus ranges between 5 and 6 million pesos, with autonomy options of 180, 250 and 385 kilometers<\/strong>, adapting to the different needs of urban routes. Tests carried out with RTP <\/strong>have shown that the model can travel up to 286 kilometers in a single day of operation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
