The president of the Latin American Association for Sustainable Mobility (Alamos) Javier Pe\u00f3n, announced a series of advances and exposed some situations in relation to the steps that must be taken so that sustainable mobility takes an even greater boom in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In an interview conducted by the co-founder of Invest in Latam, Rebeca Gonz\u00e1lez, Pe\u00f3n stressed the need for Latin American governments to commit to electric mobility in the region, as “China has been doing.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Likewise, he stressed that the creation of attractive markets for consumers should be promoted, where economic incentives that motivate the acquisition of electric vehicles are considered. “The pandemic among its bad things showed us that sustainable mobility not only has to do with the environment but also with health,” added Pe\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cIn November 2018, in Sao Paulo, we met with 5 associations that were from Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Peru and Mexico. But at this time there are also associations from Chile, Costa Rica, Guatemala, the Dominican Republic, Paraguay, Uruguay and recently Ecuador \u201d, were the words of Pe\u00f3n, about the interest that countries have in meeting their current and future needs for company transport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When asked about the actions that would allow greater progress in the sector, the manager explained that: “It is a task in which each country must identify its strengths and weaknesses.”
\u201cIt must be considered that electric vehicles can circulate on certain roads with the option of pick and plate as in Colombia. Also what has to do with the regulation of the electricity sector, it should be allowed that the charging of these cars can be done in public spaces “, he said.
