a decade later, cumulative growth exceeds <strong>20,000%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another decisive factor was the <strong>start of local production<\/strong> of pure electric and plug-in electric vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During 2025, new industrial plants began operating, such as <strong>GWM <\/strong>in Iracem\u00e1polis (S\u00e3o Paulo), <strong>BYD <\/strong>in Cama\u00e7ari (Bahia), and the multi-brand hub in <strong>Horizonte <\/strong>(Cear\u00e1), where production of <strong>General Motors<\/strong> models began.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This location of manufacturing strengthens the value chain, drives job creation, and reduces barriers to consumer access.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"617\" src=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/ABVE-120126-a.jpg\" alt=\"ABVE\" class=\"wp-image-56666\" srcset=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/ABVE-120126-a.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/ABVE-120126-a-300x181.jpg 300w, https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/ABVE-120126-a-768x463.jpg 768w, https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/ABVE-120126-a-600x362.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-more-models-and-the-dominance-of-ev\">More Models and the Dominance of EV<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The expansion of the offering was also decisive. Throughout 2025, <strong>nearly 400 different electrified models were marketed<\/strong> in the country, 26% more than in 2024, according to <strong>ABVE<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This greater diversity made it possible to cater to <strong>different consumer profiles and price ranges<\/strong>, accelerating adoption outside the traditional high-income niches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Plug-in electric vehicles, which include both 100% electric (BEV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) vehicles, accounted for the bulk of the growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In December, they accounted for <strong>78% of electrified sales<\/strong>, with 26,511 units, and in the annual total they reached <strong>181,542 vehicles<\/strong>, equivalent to <strong>81%<\/strong> of the segment&#8217;s total.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Plug-in hybrids led the market throughout the year, with <strong>101,364 units sold<\/strong>, an increase of <strong>58%<\/strong> over 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>BEVs, meanwhile, closed 2025 with<strong> 80,178 units<\/strong>, a <strong>30% year-on-year growth<\/strong> and a share of close to <strong>36% <\/strong>of total electrified vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-role-of-hybrids-and-micro-hybrids\">The Role of Hybrids and Micro-hybrids<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Hybrids without external charging, both gasoline HEVs and Flex HEVs, also showed positive growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In December, they accounted for <strong>22% of monthly electric vehicle sales<\/strong> and closed the year with <strong>42,370 units<\/strong>, equivalent to <strong>19%<\/strong> of the total, according <strong>ABVE<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/ABVE-120126-b.jpg\" alt=\"ABVE\" class=\"wp-image-56669\" srcset=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/ABVE-120126-b.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/ABVE-120126-b-300x115.jpg 300w, https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/ABVE-120126-b-768x294.jpg 768w, https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/ABVE-120126-b-600x230.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The greatest momentum was seen in Flex HEVs, driven by their adaptation to ethanol use and a wider range of models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And although they are not included in the ABVE&#8217;s main tally of electrified vehicles, micro-hybrid vehicles (MHEVs) showed remarkable growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2025, more than 61,000 units were sold, almost four times more than in 2024, a growth explained by the arrival of new models and light electrification strategies by automakers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"441\" src=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/ABVE-120126-c.jpg\" alt=\"ABVE\" class=\"wp-image-56672\" srcset=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/ABVE-120126-c.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/ABVE-120126-c-300x129.jpg 300w, https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/ABVE-120126-c-768x331.jpg 768w, https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/ABVE-120126-c-600x258.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-distributed-electric-mobility\">Distributed Electric Mobility<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>From a geographic perspective, the <strong>Southeast continues to be the main hub of Brazilian electric mobility<\/strong>, accounting for <strong>46.4%<\/strong> of sales in 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, its share is gradually declining in the face of progress in other regions.
