Arrow Mobility, EVMOB, Evolutionary Business, Instituto PARAR, and JBS: artificial intelligence and telemetry as pillars of sustainable commercial fleet management

ABVE: Growth with More than 140 Members

Loureiro explained that ABVE is an entity created to promote market development and clean transportation, based on its members, with a growing membership curve that today totals more than 140 members.

The areas of work are segmented into groups dedicated to: heavy vehicles, light vehicles, micromobility, components, charging infrastructure, urban mobility, safety, and taxation. The Board of Directors includes representatives from ABNT, ANEEL, INMETRO, BNDES, Mover, and the Fire Department, among others.

The Board Director highlighted that the association has become a reliable source of information for the press, government, and market players, offering statistical data that nourishes the electromobility ecosystem.

Márcia Loureiro

Variations of Up to 308% in Sales

The core of the presentation was the numbers that prove the thesis that electrification in Brazil has already surpassed the initial latency phase and is now on an exponential curve. Loureiro showed month‑over‑month comparisons and comparisons with the same month from the previous year.

For example, in March 2026 compared to the previous month, total electrified vehicles grew by 42%. And the numbers are even more surprising: compared to the same month of the previous year, variations reached up to 308% in some categories, with a total average of 146%.

“How many legitimate businesses in the real economy have this kind of performance? Very few. We are experiencing a disruptive and very promising technology,” she emphasized.

Regarding market share (share of electrified vehicles in total industry sales), the audience estimated values close to 14%, but Loureiro corrected: “We have already reached 16.8%.”

She also noted that this percentage is very significant and reflects that automakers are defining their portfolios increasingly oriented toward electrification, with options ranging from 100% electric (BEV) to plug‑in hybrids (PHEV) , conventional hybrids (HEV) , and flex hybrids (REV Flex) .

Domestic Production and Model Ranking

Based on data from Anfavea, Loureiro noted that currently 35% of the total volume of electrified vehicles sold corresponds to domestic production, generating positive impacts on GDP and the country’s economy.

ABVE also produces a model‑by‑model ranking, broken down by technology type and by manufacturer. Loureiro highlighted a significant concentration in the top five, but also the emergence of recent operations that are competing for positions with established brands.

In the sub‑segment breakdown, SUVs have become the national preference, while the sales record in the small hatch segment is held by the BYD Dolphin Mini.

“That deserves an interpretation about which audience it serves, what problem it solves, and whether price is the differentiating factor or not,” she reflected.

The Importance of Data

Loureiro insisted that the numbers prove theses and are auditable evidence. ABVE makes available to the market statistics broken down by architecture (BEV, PHEV, HEV, REV Flex) and by year, as well as the market share of the electrified sector.

She warned that in the case of light vehicles with mild hybrid systems, caution is needed because their avoided emission benefit is not of the same order as that of a 100% electric or a full hybrid.

Regarding heavy vehicles (passenger and cargo transport), she noted that they present a different behavior curve, still incipient, due to natural barriers such as weight, battery capacity, and cargo volume. Very light vehicles (micromobility) also have regulatory particularities that ABVE closely monitors.

“ABVE’s objective, in addition to market development, is to provide predictability, legal certainty, and regulatory certainty to the ecosystem,” she stated. The association actively participates in working groups of MDIC, the Ministry of Mines and Energy, ANEEL, INMETRO, and on safety issues with fire departments.

Outlook: Surpassing 300,000 Units in 2026

Loureiro revealed that ABVE is traditionally conservative in its projections. For 2026, they had estimated 280,000 electrified vehicles (in 2025, nearly 200,000 were reached). However, given the behavior in the first quarter and the accelerated trend, she stated that “it will certainly surpass 300,000 vehicles.”

The growth curve of electrification is inexorable, and the technology has consolidated as a technological path with no return.

Loureiro closed her presentation by making ABVE‘s information and technical support available, and invited new members to join to collaborate in the development of the business and sustainable mobility in Brazil.

A Year of Consolidation for Mobility

The Latam Mobility 2026 Tour will continue in Medellín, Colombia, on June 10–11, and will later arrive in Santiago, Chile, on August 25, bringing together experts and strategic players to further strengthen the sustainable mobility ecosystem in the region.

The tour will conclude in Mexico City on October 12–13, alongside the Climate Economy Forum, in an event that will bring together leading figures from the sector to continue driving the transition toward more efficient, sustainable, and low‑emission transportation systems in Latin America.

The transition is already underway. The Latam Mobility 2026 Tour will be the meeting point to accelerate decisions, connect key players, and collaboratively build sustainable mobility for Latin America.

Within the framework of Latam Mobility & Net Zero Brazil 2026, a keynote titled “Brazil in the Leadership of Sustainable Mobility” was delivered by Márcia Loureiro, Board Director of ABVE (Brazilian Electric Vehicle Association).
