BYD Trucks Mexico<\/strong>\u00a0announced<\/a><\/strong> the arrival of\u00a0100 T75 units<\/strong>\u00a0at the port of L\u00e1zaro C\u00e1rdenas, Michoac\u00e1n, aboard the\u00a0Glovis Leader<\/strong>\u2014the world’s largest vehicle carrier, with capacity for up to\u00a010,800 vehicles<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The shipment, which arrived in early June, marks the first in a series of scheduled deliveries for Mexico. Through this rollout, the company aims to strengthen unit availability and meet growing demand in the urban delivery segment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The BYD T75<\/strong> is a 100% electric truck<\/strong> engineered for urban and last-mile logistics. It features the Blade Battery<\/strong>, BYD<\/strong>‘s proprietary technology, which exceeds 5,000 complete charge cycles<\/strong>\u2014equivalent to 1.35 million kilometers<\/strong> of driving. The model delivers a range of up to 270 kilometers<\/strong> and a payload capacity of up to 4.45 tons<\/strong>. Its dimensions are 5.95 meters long, 2.05 meters wide, and 2.48 meters high.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This operation represents a significant milestone within BYD Trucks<\/strong>‘ expansion strategy in Mexico, which includes strengthening its footprint in logistics, e-commerce, and urban distribution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

OXXO Makes the Leap to Electromobility<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Alongside the T75 arrival, OXXO<\/strong>\u2014Mexico’s largest convenience store chain and a division of FEMSA<\/strong>\u2014incorporated its first five electric units from BYD Trucks<\/strong> into its logistics operations. These T4C<\/strong> models are equipped with refrigerated boxes for distribution operations in Quer\u00e9taro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The announcement confirms that major Mexican corporations are increasingly interested in electrifying their distribution fleets as part of their sustainability strategies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\u00a0BYD T4C<\/strong>\u00a0trucks are specifically designed for products requiring temperature-controlled transport\u2014a critical feature for the company’s supply chain. With a range of up to\u00a0240 kilometers<\/strong>, these trucks allow\u00a0OXXO<\/strong>\u00a0to maintain operational efficiency without tailpipe emissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“More and more companies are recognizing the benefits of electromobility for their daily operations,” said Oscar Zubir\u00eda<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although the arrival of these five trucks represents a notable milestone,\u00a0OXXO<\/strong>‘s logistics electrification didn’t start in 2026: the company had already taken its first steps in this direction back in January 2024. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the first quarter of 2026,\u00a0OXXO<\/strong>‘s revenue grew\u00a08.3%<\/strong>\u00a0, driven by a\u00a06%<\/strong>\u00a0increase in same-store sales and the expansion of its retail network\u2014underscoring the financial strength backing its transition to more sustainable fleets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Charging Infrastructure Challenge<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Beyond vehicle deliveries, the Mexican logistics sector faces the challenge of building a robust ecosystem for electromobility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By the end of the first quarter of 2026, Mexico had\u00a04,802 charging stations<\/strong>\u00a0for\u00a0235,501 electric vehicles<\/strong>\u2014roughly\u00a0one charging point for every 49 EVs<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In response, a group of major freight and logistics companies announced the creation of the\u00a0Charging Infrastructure Task Force<\/strong>, a shared-investment model coordinated by\u00a0Sostenibilidad Global<\/strong>\u00a0to accelerate the deployment of charging points across the country. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This alliance, which includes\u00a03M<\/strong>,\u00a0BYD Trucks<\/strong>,\u00a0Cl\u00faster NL<\/strong>,\u00a0Delectrico<\/strong>, and\u00a0Grupo Traxi\u00f3n<\/strong>, aims to chart a clear path toward zero-emission logistics in Mexico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An Expanding Portfolio for All Segments<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

BYD Trucks Mexico<\/strong>‘s strategy goes beyond the T75. The company announced that it will soon introduce the T35<\/strong> model\u2014a light-duty urban delivery truck with a payload of 2.6 tons<\/strong> and a range of 250 kilometers<\/strong>\u2014as well as the Cargo Van V9<\/strong>, a fully electric van designed for urban logistics with 17 cubic meters<\/strong> of cargo volume.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These launches, combined with the\u00a0T75<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0T4C<\/strong>, solidify\u00a0BYD Trucks<\/strong>\u00a0as the manufacturer with the\u00a0broadest lineup of electric commercial vehicles in Mexico<\/strong>\u2014covering everything from last-mile distribution to large-scale logistics operations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company, which already has a consolidated presence in Latin America, continues its international expansion with Mexico as one of its strategic pillars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The electric truck market in Mexico reached USD 16.1 million<\/strong> in 2025 and is projected to hit USD 114.2 million<\/strong> at a compound annual growth rate of 23.62%<\/strong> over the 2026\u20132034 period\u2014highlighting the enormous growth potential for players like BYD Trucks<\/strong> in the years ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ideal Space for Fleets in Latin America<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Latam Mobility 2026 Tour<\/strong> will arrive in Santiago, Chile, on August 25<\/a><\/strong>, bringing together experts and strategic players to further strengthen the sustainable mobility ecosystem in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tour will end in Mexico City on October 12 and 13<\/a><\/strong>, alongside the Climate Economy Forum<\/strong>, in a meeting that will bring together sector leaders to continue driving the transition toward more efficient, sustainable, low\u2011emission transportation systems in Latin America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
