Latin America is significantly transitioning towards electromobility. The main cities of the region have included electric vehicle fleets into the transportation sector, with the aim of reducing carbon emissions. Countries such as Chile, Colombia, Mexico and the Dominican Republic are leading this market, although there are still several goals to achieve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The insufficient charging infrastructure represents a significant challenge on which many companies are working, together with the authorities of each country, to massify the energy supply centers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this sense, Latam Mobility, a leading community in sustainable mobility throughout the continent, has arranged a panel with sector specialists at the “Latam Smart Mobility & Cities Virtual Summit” meeting, to discuss about the main objectives that seek to consolidate these new technologies in the metropolis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Representatives of prestigious companies such as Blink Charging, Wallbox, Alemautos Panama, Enel X, Siemens and EPM will be part of the panel called “Latest trends in Electric Vehicle Technology and Charging Infrastructure”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Important Projects<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Enel Group, represented by Jean Paul Zalaquett, Head of e-Mobility Latin America of Enel X at the meeting, started operations of the first Electro Service Station in the region, in Santiago de Chile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new infrastructure will allow buses, trucks, last mile vehicles, cab fleets and private cars to recharge electric energy 24 hours a day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Juan Carlos Barahona, Senior Director of Blink Charging, will present the company’s progress in promoting electric mobility. The North American company started 2022 with great innovations by presenting its line of chargers at the Las Vegas electronics show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the sophisticated chargers, Blink launched two new apps, “Blink Mobile App” and the “Blink Fleet” portal, to power a more seamless, efficient and affordable charging experience for both consumers and fleets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another of the prominent speakers who will be part of the interesting mobility forum, will be Diego Martins, Regional Manager Latam of Wallbox, an intelligent provider of energy management and charging of electric vehicles that designs, manufactures and distributes technologies in this area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Spanish company has big plans and started this year with an announcement to the huge Super Bowl audience as a way to shore up its U.S. expansion after going public on Wall Street.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Its smart charging product line includes, among other products, Level 2 AC AC chargers (Pulsar Plus, Commander 2 and Copper SB) for residential and business use, and DC fast chargers (Supernova) for public space use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Raul Civiello, General Manager of Alemautos Panama will speak about the company’s efforts in electromobility. The firm is celebrating its 25th anniversary as the official importer and exclusive representative of Porsche, one of the most innovative manufacturers in the field of electrification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gladys Rodriguez, Commercial Professional of EPM’s Home Offers Unit, will also be part of the panel. The group has 29 public charging stations in operation, 20 of which it owns. The infrastructure offers the installed capacity to meet an estimated demand of about 8 thousand connectable electric vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among other important projects to reduce emissions, the company put into operation the first wind farm in Colombia and is now preparing a solar generation project in the department of Caldas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting is part of the sustainable mobility promotion agenda organized by Latam Mobility for 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
