At last year&#8217;s Motor Show (IAA Mobility 2021), the brand unveiled the BMW i Vision Circular, a benchmark prototype for the circular economy that has brought the goal of achieving a climate-neutral business model by 2050 within reach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This initiative shows what individual, sustainable and urban mobility could look like in 2040, built with 100% secondary materials and renewable and fully recyclable raw materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This 2022, at its customary Annual Conference, the company provided details of its upcoming electric launches, digital transformation and the mobility future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The strategy has among its key pillars sales, electric mobility and the environment. On the latter, BMW reported an EU fleet emissions figure of 115.9 grams of CO2 per kilometer, exceeding its CO2 fleet target of 126 g\/km. 2021 was also the first year in which all BMW Group production and all its sites worldwide achieved a net-zero carbon footprint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Short-term Goals<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><br>The Group intends to significantly increase the percentage of secondary material used in its vehicles with the &#8220;Secondary First&#8221; approach to consider all areas of global sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company will also have 15 all-electric models in production by 2022, covering around 90% of its current segments. In this sense, the company also expects an increase in sales of its electrified cars and by the end of 2025, it intends to have more than two million cars with these technologies on the roads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In reference to batteries, BMW will realign its product range from the middle of the decade with the introduction of the &#8220;Neue Klasse&#8221;, based on a vehicle architecture geared uncompromisingly to electric powertrains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Neue Klasse is characterized by three aspects: a completely redefined IT and software architecture, a newly developed electric powertrain and battery generation, and a new level of sustainability throughout the entire life cycle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Oliver Zipse, Chairman of the Board of Management of BMW AG, noted during the conference that 2021 represents clear proof that successful transformation yields positive results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The fruits we achieved in the 2021 financial year is a product of our consistent strategy &#8211; with an open technology approach and the right products at the right time,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Zipse assured that they have laid the foundation to build on this success in the coming years &#8220;With the Neue Klasse, we are taking sustainable mobility into a new technological dimension.
