XCharge and FAZT Charging Promote Massive Deployment of Fast Charging Infrastructure in Mexico

FAZT

The advancement of electric mobility in Mexico took a significant step forward with the announcement of a strategic alliance between XCharge, a global provider of high-power charging solutions, and FAZT Charging, a company specializing in ultra-fast charging backed by Spanish energy company FactorEnergia.

The project aims to install an extensive network of fast and ultra-fast charging stations throughout the country, leveraging the extensive network of stores belonging to the Soriana retail chain.

On a Large Scale and in Collaboration with Soriana

The initiative involves the deployment of charging infrastructure in more than 700 Soriana supermarkets throughout Mexico, taking advantage of the presence and accessibility of these everyday locations to facilitate the recharging of electric vehicles in urban areas and high-traffic roads.

Soriana, one of the country’s leading self-service chains, operates more than 780 stores in various locations, constituting a strategic platform for the development of electric mobility infrastructure.

In the first phase of the project, the first 30 charging sites are expected to become operational in the first quarter of 2026, with more than 80 additional stations scheduled to be active before the end of that same year.

This first stage includes 440 fast charging points around Soriana stores, an average of four points per location, equivalent to two stations with two connectors each.

Goal: 1,000 Charging Points by 2030

Beyond the initial phase, the long-term goal of the alliance between XCharge and FAZT is to establish up to 1,000 operational charging points throughout Mexico by 2030, positioning the network as one of the most important in the country in terms of coverage and service.

This deployment would contribute to significantly expanding the public charging infrastructure, improving the experience of electric vehicle users and supporting the energy transition in the transport sector.

This network is shaping up to be a key element in meeting the growing demand for charging points, especially as the adoption of electric vehicles accelerates in Mexico and in contexts where public infrastructure still fails to meet the needs of users throughout the country.

Advanced Technology and Universal Compatibility

The chargers to be installed are part of XCharge’s C6EU line, offering charging power ranging from 60 kW to 200 kW, enabling faster and more efficient recharging at everyday destinations such as supermarkets, shopping malls, and high-density road corridors.

This equipment includes support for multiple connector standards, NACS (popularized by Tesla and increasingly adopted by US manufacturers), GBT (common among Chinese brands such as BYD and JAC), and CCS1 (widely used in America), ensuring compatibility with a wide range of electric vehicles available in the Mexican and regional markets.

The stations will also be integrated with the FAZT app, which will allow users to locate charging points, manage payments, and monitor the status of each charging session in real time, enhancing the user experience through digital technology.

FAZT

FAZT executives have indicated that the choice of XCharge as a technology partner is based on its proven experience in high-power charging solutions and its ability to adapt technologies to the specific needs of the Mexican market.

This synergy between XCharge‘s technological vision, FAZT‘s infrastructure expertise, and Soriana‘s territorial coverage creates a strategic combination with the potential to transform the way electric drivers access public charging services.

With the progressive rollout of infrastructure beginning in 2026 and projected to continue through 2030, the alliance between XCharge, FAZT Charging, and Soriana represents a significant step forward in strengthening the public charging network in Mexico.

2026: Moving Towards Electric Mobility

Rather than ambitious announcements, 2026 will be a year for measuring results. Electric and low-emission mobility will no longer be evaluated by the number of pilot projects but will be judged by its ability to operate at scale, reduce real emissions, and improve the quality of urban life.

For Latin America, the challenge will be to capitalize on its experience in electric public transportation, close infrastructure gaps, and build stable policies that allow the transition to be not only green but also inclusive and economically viable.

With the 2026 Tour, Latam Mobility reaffirms its commitment to building a regional agenda that connects vision, public policy, innovation, and the market.

Through its stops in Monterrey and Mexico City, Brazil, Colombia, and Chile, the platform will continue to promote a collaborative approach to accelerate the transition to cleaner, more efficient, and more inclusive transportation systems, positioning Latin America as a relevant player in sustainable mobility at the global level.
