Yutong, one of the global leaders in electric transportation solutions, participated in the Latam Mobility & Net Zero Mexico event through Anel Hernández Serrano, the company’s Director of Operations, showcasing the actions and footprint the company has made and, more importantly, aims to make in terms of sustainability.
As a featured speaker at the event held at the World Trade Center in Mexico City, Hernández highlighted how Yutong’s truck segment is an emerging part of the group, leveraging the company’s experience in producing complete vehicles and its mastery of new energy electric technology.
These heavy and light trucks are designed to meet the highest standards of energy savings and environmental protection, while offering safe, intelligent, and durable solutions for a variety of sectors such as logistics, supermarket distribution, and mining.
Yutong’s bets in the market
Yutong is betting on the development of electric mining trucks, making the company pioneers in the sector, allowing it to consolidate a prominent market share in the new energy industry, demonstrating its ability to offer advanced technological solutions that enhance operational efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
In addition to trucks, Yutong Heavy Industries, the group’s second listed company, has led the Chinese market for new energy sanitation equipment, with a 28.5% market share in 2021.
Outland Environmental, a subsidiary of Yutong, focuses on integrating advanced technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence with intelligent sanitation equipment, thus driving the transformation of the industry towards a greener and more efficient future.
A clear example of this innovation is the 100% electric rotary drilling rig developed by Yutong, which has garnered the attention of customers due to its high efficiency and environmental protection focus.
The company invests more than 5% of its annual revenue in research and development (R&D), with a team of over 3,000 engineers and 7 national innovation platforms. This investment has enabled Yutong to receive the National Award for Scientific and Technological Progress of China and the China Industry Award.
Yutong in Mexico
Since 2015, Yutong has been actively working in Mexico, starting with the electrification of trolleybuses in Mexico City. Today, the company has over 1,500 units operating in Mérida and Monterrey, benefiting more than 62 million users daily, and extending its presence to San Luis Potosí and Puebla.
“Yutong sees great potential in Mexico to become a global leader in technological solutions for electric mobility. With a growing economy and a strategic geographic position, Mexico has the opportunity to lead the transition to a more sustainable future,” commented Hernández.
