Porsche Expands Destination Charging Network in Partnership with ChargeBox

With the aim of implementing the largest charging network for electric vehicles in Latin America, Porsche announced a major expansion of supply points in Argentina.

Nordenwagen, the brand’s representative in the South American country, informed about the expansion of its Destination Charging chain. The German brand already had chargers in its network of dealerships and official services, but now it has expanded it to other points through an alliance with the company ChargeBox.

The expansion reaches Nordelta, where a fifth Porsche Destination Charging pedestal was installed, a private network of the brand that will double its capacity by the end of 2023.

In addition to access to the pedestals of the exclusive network, owners of 100% electric cars and plug-in hybrids Porsche have access to a personalized card that allows them to use the 40 chargers that the company ChargeboxNet has installed today in different parts of the country and whose number will exceed 100 in the coming months.

Power

The charging pedestals of the Porsche Destination Charging network have a power of 11kW and Type 2 connectors. In addition, customers of electrified Taycan, Cayenne or Panamera models in Argentina will receive a bonus membership of 10 hours of monthly charging free of charge in the ChargeBox charger network.

The Porsche Destination Charging network points are installed in strategic locations – for example, restaurants, hotels and upscale shopping malls – which, due to their characteristics, regularly receive Porsche customers.

“The expansion of the local charging network will be a constant that accompanies Porsche AG’s global strategy of progressively offering more and more cars with electrified running gear, either one hundred percent electric or plug-in hybrids,” said Hugo Pulenta, President of Nordenwagen S.A., the national company that has been representing the Porsche brand in Argentina and Uruguay for 29 years. “The goal is that as of 2030 eighty percent of the Porsche cars leaving the plants will have this type of technology.”

The main benefits offered by the ChargeboxNet service include the possibility of accessing the charging map of the entire network from the vehicle’s screen, as well as information about the technical conditions of each charger, its power, manager and charging time range.

Since the agreement with ChargeboxNet was signed, customers who purchase a Taycan, Cayenne or Panamera with plug-in hybrid running gear in Argentina receive a personalized card with a bonus membership that includes 120 hours of recharging at a rate of 10 hours per month accumulated and also access to special discounts at any point of the ChargeboxNet network.
