Enel X Way to Supply Charging Infrastructure to Volkswagen Trucks Division in Brazil

Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus, a subsidiary of Volkswagen AG, signed an agreement with Enel X Way to supply customized approved chargers for e-Delivery technology, the company’s first electric truck.

At the time of marketing the heavy vehicle, the manufacturer offers an additional battery warranty for those who purchase a charger from the Enel Group‘s renowned electromobility division.

It should be noted that the technology used for the energy supply has passed the thorough tests of VWCO’s e-Mobility Engineering, which also includes the possibility of adding the necessary electrical installation to the package.

Guaranteed Charging Ecosystem

About the attributes that the partnership will bring, Walter Pellizzari, Corporate Strategy Director of Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus, pointed out that they are looking for partners who can collaborate in component technology, in addition to analyzing the entire product life cycle.

“This was the case of Enel X Way, which is present not only in the provision of recharging solutions, but also in the provision of services and management of recharging points.”

He assured that they have a specialized team of the VWCO brand ready to advise customers on the best charging and energy solution for the application, seeking the best total cost of operation.

For his part, Paulo Maisonnave, responsible for Enel X Way in Brazil, highlighted that the partnership with VWCO is a very important milestone, since fleet owners are part of the market they seek to cover.

“We are helping automakers to create an infrastructure that provides safety to consumers and making partnerships with different sectors that have already perceived this transition as inevitable,” he added.

Enel X Way’s portfolio ranges from 7 kW AC chargers to 350 kW DC chargers, which can fully power a vehicle in less than 15 minutes.

To meet the growing demand for electric vehicles in Brazil, the company is investing significantly in expanding the infrastructure of charging points, betting on solutions with intelligence and connectivity.

Enel X Way recently signed a partnership with Mercedes Benz in Brazil to be part of the electromobility ecosystem offered by the manufacturer when marketing its EQA 250, EQB 250 and EQE 300 models.

Available at the brand’s 13 authorized dealers in Brazil, they are sold with an Energy package developed in partnership with Enel X Way.
