In order to further strengthen its key role in the promotion of electromobility, DHL has different options and platforms to expand its network of more than 50 countries around the world and more than 1,500 facilities.
In Mexico, DHL Supply Chain inaugurated its new Center of Excellence for Electric Vehicles inside the Macrocenter in Cuautitlán Izcalli, State of Mexico, the first of its kind in the Americas and the second worldwide, thus strengthening the electromobility supply chain.
This center, which already has clients such as Ford, will provide the capacity to transport batteries and other components to assemble this type of vehicle with the specialization required, for example, controlled temperature.

Investment and Objectives
At the inauguration of the new specialized center, Oscar de Bok, Global CEO of DHL Supply Chain announced that the company will invest 500 million euros for the period 2023-2028 in Latin America.
This investment will be directed to domestic infrastructure such as logistics centers, automation, digitalization, in addition to directing it to the company’s decarbonization efforts.
The executive highlighted the importance of the region, which has two of the 15 largest economies in the world (Brazil 10th and Mexico 14th), in addition to the fact that nearshoring is a trend in Latin America, especially in Mexico as the main trading partner of the United States.
Agustin Croche, CEO for Latin America, said the region is important for the group in its decarbonization strategy, with three million square feet of warehouses in 243 locations.
DHL has been constantly working to migrate its transportation to more sustainable options, such as electric vehicles, as well as gas, biodiesel, low-sulfur diesel, among others.
The group has not only focused on transportation, but also a large part of the facilities that make up DHL’s logistics network are sustainable.
These initiatives reinforce the company’s commitment to its 2050 sustainability goals in its operations, and contribute to the sustainable mobility value chain, providing specialized logistics for the components of the future of the automotive industry.
Sustainable Mobility Community in Mexico
On October 10 and 11, “Latam Mobility: Mexico 2023” will be held at the Word Trade Center in Mexico City, at a key moment for the development and promotion of new technologies that make up the sustainable mobility environment.
In Mexican territory, Latam Mobility closes the 2023 tour, in its efforts as part of the main networking and value generation network in Latin America, Invest in Latam, which integrates initiatives such as Latam Green, in the field of sustainability, and H2 Business News, linked to clean fuels.
