Enerlink Analyzes Electromobility Landscape in Mexico for 2024

Enerlink has grown significantly within the electromobility ecosystem in Latin America, through a range of technology solutions.

It has a wide range of electromobility, smart metering and energy management solutions. Among its offerings are software as a service for smart charging, charging as a complete solution, development, and financing leveraged on high technology.

Enerlink sees great growth opportunities in the Mexican market, which is why it makes a series of analyses and projections on the road to electric mobility in the country.

The company expects that government policies, consumer incentives and technology investments have created an even more conducive ecosystem for electric vehicle adoption, placing Mexico in a strategic position to lead the transition in the region.

Projections

Enerlink sees 2024 as a key year, not only in terms of the number of electric vehicles on the road, but also in terms of the maturity of the infrastructure and public awareness of the benefits of this technology.

Significant advances in technology, specific policies and consumer adoption were evident during 2023.

Enerlink believes that the sector has been driven by a combination of electric vehicle innovations, growing environmental awareness, and regulatory and fiscal support.

The company highlights the increased adoption of electric vehicles in Mexico, according to the EY Mobility Consumer Index, which indicates that 44% of Mexican consumers are interested in purchasing electric vehicles, including all-electric, plug-in hybrid and hybrid models.

Regarding the role of the authorities, Enerlink stresses that through the National Electric Mobility Strategy (ENME) and other policies, the government has implemented tax incentives, invested in charging infrastructure and promoted research and development in the sector.

They claim that the growing electromobility sector in Mexico is a driver of technological development and job generation, strengthening the local economy.

“Although air quality remains a concern in Mexico City, considerable improvement has been observed recently. According to the Air and Health Index and CDMX Air Quality Index reports, in July 2023 air quality was classified as ‘regular and acceptable,’ with a ‘moderate’ risk level. This optimistic data fills us with hope for the year 2024,” Enerlink specifies.
