The new electric fleet of the Passenger Transportation Network (RTP) will soon arrive in Mexico City, which will contribute to the decarbonization of the vehicle fleet.
In this regard, the General Director of the RTP, Sergio Osorio, and the Secretary of Mobility, Andrés Lajous Loaeza, supervised the progress of the New Charging Center for electric units, located in module 7 in the Azcapotzalco district, which will supply them with energy.
According to local media “La Prensa”, the recharging area contemplates the installation of 25 state-of-the-art electric chargers, ideal for the operation of the new 50 buses; the first 100 percent electric fleet of RTP, which will join the electromobility project in Mexico City.

Goals Achieved Osorio highlighted the achievements made in record time, with the removal of 1,500 tons of debris, including roofs and walls, as well as the successful completion of the medium voltage lines and the placement of the perimeter fence on the 6,500 square meter site.
In addition, the RTP director announced the integral renovation of this space, which will feed the new units free of polluting emissions and noise, which will be accessible to people with some type of disability, as they will have a kneeling system, low entrance at sidewalk level, ramp for wheelchair users and preferential spaces.
The official specified that the new electric buses will run on routes 34 A (Balderas – Santa Fe) and 57 (Cuatro Caminos – Metro Constitución de 1917). With this acquisition, the RTP takes a technological leap forward for the benefit of the citizens and the environment of Mexico City.
