Mexico City authorities commissioned 50 new high-tech trucks manufactured in China, providing a comprehensive new-energy smart logistics solution to offer better products and services to users in the Mexican capital.
This fleet is environmentally friendly, green, and sustainable. It includes full vehicle services and will be used to operate in the Red de Transporte de Pasajeros (RTP).
The Mayor of the capital, Martí Batres, highlighted that the new units are the first electric units of RTP and add to the wide range of electrified transport in Mexico City.

Inclusion and Service
With these trucks, public transportation becomes a “very high quality” service, explained Batres on his last day as head of the local government.
“The buses are super comfortable, they fit 90 people, they have exclusive spaces for women, for people with visual or motor disabilities, and they have exclusive spaces for senior citizens and other seats in general,” he added.
This fleet of 50 buses will offer service on route 34 A, which runs from Balderas to Santa Fe, as well as on route 57, which runs from Metro Constitución de 1917 to Cuatro Caminos.
Likewise, the Loading Center for these new buses was inaugurated in a rehabilitated space in the Azcapotzalco district, which was formerly used for streetcars.
The general director of the RTP, Sergio Osorio Romero, explained that this center houses a medium voltage electricity transformation system, with two 3,000 kilowatt transformers, as well as a low voltage network that feeds 25 chargers that will power the buses to achieve an autonomy of up to 300 kilometers.
